Despite delays caused by production and transport difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the first shipments of solar panels have arrived at Lumen Park Szolnok. Meanwhile, the solar panel manufacturing partner has announced the completion of the last unit for Hungary’s largest solar park, which will soon be on its way to Szolnok. SolServices has ordered the solar panels from one of the world’s largest panel manufacturers: the Chinese company is an internationally renowned supplier with state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities and extensive research and development activities, and has also committed to deliver on time despite the supply difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The solar park, which consists of two projects, will have a total of 233,000 high-end solar panels with a capacity of 585 and 590 watts each. If these panels were laid side by side, you could walk from Budapest to Munich, or from Szolnok to Prague. The area of the installed solar panels, if laid close together, would cover 90 large football pitches.
The panels will be fixed in an environmentally friendly way to steel frames that have been driven into the ground, i.e. not concreted. During the construction of the Lumen Park Szolnok, a total of more than 9,300 tonnes of steel structures were used to build the supporting frame.
